Trout stocking
« on: Mar 29, 2013, 11:33 AM »
I was just curious when they stock the lakes and water bodies in RI? And I have one more question... Do u think that the trout are in the stocked ponds all year round, or are they pretty much all gone at a certain point in the summer?

Trout stocking began a few weeks ago, when the ice went out on the ponds. The majority of RI's trout lakes are on a put and take basis, which means they do not holdover through the summer. However, there are a handful of lakes where trout do holdover through the summer, but by then they will in deeper water seeking colder water temps.
