Wish I could help you out.  I haven't been up yet this year.  This state board is very slow.  If I hear from anyone that is/has fished the Conn. lakes I will let you know.

Please post your reports when you get back.

Sorry.

we're headed up the last of june first of july.  do you go to francis?  i hear that the salmon are right by the state park this time of yr.   i would bet the flyfishing only area at the upper end of 1st would be a hot spot too!
the fishin pug is my favorite fishing partner!
favorite place the conneticut river from walpole to the thetford area.

You want to have some fun up there huh? It is too bad you are going up so late. The salmon are running Memorial Day weekend in that fly fishing only spot on the First Lake.  If you want to catch a number of bows, fish the Third Lake.  Lead core and sewn(threaded) night crawlers will keep your hands full. The gold Harry Lures in the 2 or 3" size will also keep your hands full trolling the sand bar on the First Lake. Another technique for the lakers is to anchor up on the sand bar and drop some cut suckers on the bottom. This has been known to and will generally produce a great day of lakers!

Any other questions, send me a PM!
