Wisconsin River walleye run
« on: Mar 29, 2009, 11:27 AM »
Went to college at UWSP in the early 90's and spent my fair share (all of!) my time walleye fishing below the Du Bay dam, off Bukolt Park, and a few miles downstream of the Hwy. 10 bridge at the boat landing off river road.  It's been several years since I've been back but I always said that someday I would.  Was wondering if anyone has been fishing the Wisconsin in or near Stevens Point yet and how it's been going.  ??? Best fish our band of merry men ever caught was a 8lb., 26" 'eye--also caught several slab 12-14" crappie, but back in the day they smelled like a paper mill.  Anything changed? :)

It's been slow so far but hopefully will pick up by next weekend.  Water is still pretty cold.
