Will do. Hoping to use it for ice fishing next winter as well.

Went out to hemlock this past Saturday and tried the Garmin out. It works really well. Could see my jig only a couple inches long down in the deeper water and watch the fish react to it. Pretty cool to watch that happen. So far pretty impressed with it for the price.

Yo Guys and Gals,

Let me start this early this year. The ice is waning rather quickly. Too quick for my taste. I am fastly turning my thoughts to soft water with visions of getting my new (used) boat ready for this spring. I bought a 18.5' 1984 Searay with an OMC motor and drive unit on craigslist. The old larson is still running so I will have some time to get the new, old boat setup for fishing. After replacing the deck on the Larson 2 times, I am relieved the Searay has a fiberglass deck. My mechanic hasn't finished checking  out the mechanics of the boat yet ,but I have heard it run on the ear muffs and it sounds good to go. Wish me luck guys and gals that I have made a good purchase. You always have your heart in your hand when you purchase an older boat. I was lucky with the Larson and I might add, I pray a lot.

I'm with you on this one Boggey. 8)  Last two days have been so nice that I've taken time to give my Starcraft a quick "eye" while it is resting in my new garage.
Let me know when you are ready to get out.

Hi guys. I'm sliding over from ice shanty. With that being said PLEASE be careful as we transition out of hard water. Sometimes we get the itch for one more but save that for open water fishing. Good luck everyone, glad to be here.

So very nice to see the return of Jboggey. Your very informative and accurate reports were surely missed on IS. Best of luck with your SeaRay and may you fill her with a bountiful catch.

Also wandered over from ice shanty. Is this site fairly active in soft water season?

Yo Catfisher.

To answer your question. It is as active as we make it. Obviously, we get to spend a lot more time on soft water than hard water by it's very nature. Good weather, longer days and more fish to clean at evening when we get back home. This makes for less time to write of our exploits. Still , I usually manage to drop a few anecdotes by evenings end. I hope you will also find the time. Tell us all where your fav fishing spots are. Please include coordinates
