Bottom Bouncers - Unbrella rigs
« on: Apr 08, 2013, 08:13 AM »
Hi all,

I am going to make some bottom bouncers for zander (no walleye over here  :P) fishing this year. What I have the easiest access to is 1.1mm and 1.5mm wire. I was wondering if the 1.5mm would be to big?

Same question for an umbrella rig.

Cheers

What we use here in the USA is .035 wire or .040-.045 depending on what you are doing with it For bottom bouncers depending on weight of rig .035 is used quit a bit with the smaller sizes like up to 1 oz beyond that weight .045 would be  better choice. Umbrella rigs I would go with something like .050 and even bigger as you do not want it tangling when a fish is on.
Did you put the plug in the boat?
