I'm ready as ever for Friday , I just hope the skeeters let me hunt for a few hours.  I was out today and they are BAD  I have a Thermacell which I won in a raffle   It's coming out of the box and we'll find out if it works or I'm back to Bluegills

Thermocell works.  I hung a stand down along a creek bottom the other evening. Woulda been ate up.

Thermocell works great for keeping skeeters away, but it also keeps deer away…they smell it just like you can.

permethrin  not only repels ticks it does mosquitoes as well....follow the directions  do not spray your skin

another mistake i  found in the  new york hunting regulations .....

You may hunt waterfowl with a firearm or bow, over water, within 500 feet of a dwelling or public structure as long as neither are within 500 feet (for a firearm) or 150 feet (for a bow) in the direction you are shooting. You may not hunt waterfowl with a crossbow.



who  ever  wrote  this  needs a  new job or a new  proof reader .....we all know  you can't hunt waterfowl with a bow

No crossbow because you can’t shoot flu flu arrows from it so it’s like shooting a rifle into the air completely unsafe

Went opening morning and then with the rain and a boo boo to my trigger finger, I've done nothing but pick, cook, and freeze mushrooms. I guess it could be worse.   I'm looking at maybe doing a bullhead trip this week since the wind looks to be calm. there should be a couple nice nights coming. It's never a good as springtime, but hey, What the heck it's fishing

62 that is  cool  a lot of people don't even know  bullheads  have a decent fall bite ,we use to go after them years ago
