My youngest son Chris got a small 8pt this morning.  That’s my old 870 he uses.  He pulled off the scope I had on it and changed the foregrip and stock to a composite.  (gun butcher). 😎

Nice one Mac   If that's what small deer look like I'll take a small one every day    Love to see those good guns get passed on in the family    My first deer rifle was a marlin 32 special that is in the hands of the third family member and takes one down nearly every year  great job by Chris

That's a NICE buck Mac.  You can't beat a 870.  (Well you can but it will still work.)  I see you had a saddle scope mount.  My dad bought my 870 for me when I was 16, over 50 years ago.  Works as good as new.  It's the Wingmaster version with now a cantileaver mounted scope, one of the "bull barrels" that I don't think are made anymore.  It shoots well and I prefer it over a rifle in heavy cover.  Congratulations to your son!

Got the white band inlaid in it between the wood and butt?
Well did it use to before he removed it..

I believe so.
I’d have to dig up the old photos to check.  But I just sat down for a few minutes to watch some football before finishing getting dinner prepared.
It was new in the box but probably a leftover from years past.
My great uncle took me to an estate sale that had it for sale.  I got it for $75!!!

You stole it for 75.00. I paid either 200 or 225 for my used 870 in 1983

Like this? Original bird barrel and I do have a scoped canter lever barrel for it also.

I’m quite sure it did.
I have tons of old pics and that gun should be in a few.
I’ll look later.
I just sat down to watch the game.
Leftovers are put away, things cleaned up, people are gone, and I’m freekin whipped.
