I looked seriously at a fisher back in the mid 90’s. Back then they were all welded with aluminum floors. When Tracker bought them out in 96 they started making them cheap. Wood floors, wiring problems, poor welds etc. Not to mention that a 40 hp merc from that time was a royal pain to get any parts for. They’d make 4 or 5 model changes in a single year.

A friend bought one in 2000. He dumped the Merc and bought a Johnson. Had a weld crack after 2 years, cost him a bundle to get it fixed. He sold it and bought an Alumacraft.

Needless to say, I kept my boat.
If you lend someone $20 and never see that person again, it was probably worth it.

i would pass on any boat with a merc.  parents had a n old fisher that was ok.  it was welded though like said.

My dad had nothing but problems with a mercury outboard that came with a bass tracker he bought brand new. I'll stick with my Yamaha.

I've been amassing new gear, rods and reels, lines, lures.  Due to a diminishing retail supply, a lot of it is impulse buys.
