Why is it that everything, including fishing talk, have to resort to Covid talk???? 🤯🤯

RG, I’m ready to jump off that bridge You’re trying to sell!!!! OYE!!!!🥴

It’s a short bridge and not very high, but you’d probably land on a fish or two.
If you lend someone $20 and never see that person again, it was probably worth it.

Here’s a change for you….just got this email

Dear Boaters,

Carbon monoxide from boat engines can build up in an enclosed or semi-enclosed spaces and create poisoning hazards resulting in death.

If your boat has an enclosed compartment, the State of New York strongly encourages you to install a carbon monoxide detector.

This message was sent by the New York State DMV
6 Empire State Plaza | Albany, NY 12228

I own a 14’ tri hull with a 30 hp outboard.

Got a good chuckle anyway. And…in the first week of January…….

i got a 1963 sea craft row boat with a 3 1/2 mercury ....where do i mount the carbon monoxide detector ????

to be honest i have experirenced a feeling of relaxation and  i have become   tired in the boat ,from what i have read these are classic symptoms ,i am so glad the state cared so much for me that state employees  wasted time and resources that tax payers and licensed outdoorsmen paid for to warn me of this danger .........

The timing is certainly weird.  And clearly this does not apply to those of us with small fishing boats that have no cabin.  But I think I remember that last year a couple died of CO poisoning (A LE officer and his girlfriend, maybe) when they were tied up somewhere on Oneida Lake.  I'm not sure what the source of the CO was, maybe they were running a small generator.

LOL
If I read some of the changes correctly I’m in favor of some that I’m interested in

I'm glad they sent that email to all registered boat owners. Its not really for people like us who grew up with boats. Its for all the people I see on Oneida who have no business being in a boat.

To make things worse you can't count on common sense anymore either.

A year or two ago I seem to remember two people died from carbon monoxide leaving their inboard running while going to sleep for the night.
