How far do herring travel up the mohawk.And when do they return ?

As far as I know herring would not make to the Mohawk. The Troy dam stops their migration with out either ladders or human intervention.
If you find one, pickle it.

the herring make to at least lock 9 they may even go further ,Many people were catching them at lock 8 then using them for bait, this has been before cover due to the lock closures

I've seen them in the Amsterdam - Ft Hunter area Not sure of the lock numbers 12-14 maybe ? They must go thru the lucks
