Maine / A few nice salmon

I have only been out 4 times but no skunk. Prior to last Friday when we had 15 degrees and NW winds the fishing was very good. But after that cold snap the water went from 39 degrees down to 34  :(
But all in all we have seen 4 salmon over 3 lbs and one maybe 3.5 or so we didn’t weigh it.

New York / Re: Hey Fly Tiers...What's In The Vise?

The fly today is the march brown
Size 12 Daiichi 1180
Teal flank wing
Pheasant tail fibers tail
I used hairline march brown dubbing with a single wild turkey tail feather barb as rib
One grizzly hackle on brown you adjust the fly color by how much grizzly you wrap

Great early season fly march browns are a big may fly I tie 10 12 14

Now something I was thinking .often tyers with experience get talking and talk about expenßive vices tools and gear which are all great but you can produce great flies with inexpensive tools these are the tools I used to fill my box with march browns

Keep tying and let's see your flies

There is something biblical about fishing on good Friday. I have caught very many limits of different species through the years. Always looking to go on this day especially. GOOD LUCK 2 U AND EVERYONE ELSE WHO IS PLANNING ON DIPPING A LINE.

I got over to Missy this evening and tried for crappie. The wind was a real pain, it was constant and pretty cold and had the water nearly whitecapping. It also was muddy. I caught maybe 10 crappie just fishing off cliff walls and letting waves move my jig right next to the wall. About half were kepper size but i was releasing everything today. I also lost a real nice one that may have pushed for my personal best. I may try again Friday unless its windy.
