Good evening friends... I had some time today and thought I would text my friend Bob that has a boat lift/pier business located over at Koontz lake regarding the closure of the public access. He informed me that there is no current information as to why this is taking so long to dredge the channel and reminded me that there are no other public ramps available. He told me the best guess, on the street, is that the ramp may be open by mid September. I know the channel was low but the last time I used it in June, I navigated a common 16' Lund with a 40 hp with no problems. Perhaps it got worse... It is just frustrating to close the access July and August and part of September. Hopefully, it will be much improved when they are finished...
