Title: An Hour After Dinner
Post by: bogtrotter on Jun 29, 2019, 07:32 PM
Last night, I camped out with my two sons and another family near a private pond where there was a kids fishing derby today.

A snorting buck (at least that's what I think it was) passed by our tents in the middle of the night.

Today, my younger son fished in the derby, while I "worked" it (helping kids with tangled lines, tying hooks, cleaning fish, that sort of thing).

Came home, cleaned up, puts stuff away. Cooked out for dinner - - a chicken breast, a (partly home grown salad) and a beer.

Then I fished the South Hoosic in Adams from 6:30 to 7:30 PM.

Sunny, blue skies, 78 degrees.

I started by Mullen Mayflower and fished downstream toward Elm Rock.

I ended up catching five rainbows in the 11" to 13" range.

The biggest (which I caught under the Burnet Bednarz Bridge) jumped a couple feet out of the water twice, and slipped the hook the first time I "pricked" him. But I managed to reel him in when he struck again a few minutes later.

Very nice Jim.  How's the flow up there?
