Fat Boy's 2016 Pictures
« on: May 13, 2016, 11:58 AM »
Sorry about my lame posting of last year...I will post more pics this year.

Here's a mid 30's musky from January:

Small striper caught while fishing for largemouth:

OK largemouth:

Made a trip to NY to fish the Niagara and also Lake Ontario.  But, the lake was too rough.  This was about as far out as we could get, only about 2 hours the first fishing day in the evening were calm enough to hit the mouth of the river:

2 backlashes at one time:

Chunky Niagara smallie:

Great breakfast eats at Tommy George's

My only big trout of the trip, spunky laker that took me around the boat motor back and forth a few times:

A big school of stockies showed up while we were bass fishing...I managed to snap off a photo.  There were thousands of these:

LM bass are fun when they crush chatterbaits.  I find myself using them in place of spinnerbaits of late (as a go to) especially when the water is more on the clear side.  It's hard to beat a spinnerbait in murky or muddy water though...

I fished solo yesterday and caught a bunch of these fellas on a green pumpkin chatterbait:

Nice photos Fat Boy. :)
Those are some fine looking mixed bag of fish.
I really like your Jan. musky. Nice to be open water fishing by then. 8)

I have not really tried a chatter bait yet, looks like I might have to some time. ;)
Wonder how well they work for pike and walleye?

Thanks WW.

I haven't caught a walleye or pike on them, but chain pickerel crush them, so I'd imagine pike would too.  I would think that walleye would too if you fish them deep and slow, or maybe at night when they come in shallow.

I use my own trailers on them, either a 4-5" grub or perhaps a ringworm rather than the trailers that they come with simply because I like that extra action and vibration.
