I am relatively a new member to MFF, at least compared to a lot of people on here.
Anyways, I'm curious as to why the Online Tourney starts on June 1st and not the middle of April or even May.
A lot of nice fish are caught and released at ice out. I know that would make it quite a long tournament, but was just wondering. Thanks,
Dennis

They don't want to give you a head start. You already cleaned up on the shanty. ;D

The members here are from all across the US and Canada, so there are many different start dates for ice out or open season...I think the current start date makes it fair for all

Thanks bassjunky.
My only concern is if I wait for June 1st, and ice is just going out for the folks up in Canada. Then they have an advantage of catching some of the nicest fish of the year, just as the ice leaves their lakes. Maybe I'm looking at this all wrong.

I got a good kick out of that one....I know we are up north, but the ice is out long before June...Im already open water fishing (Crappie) so it's not an ice issue, it is just the season issue....it's a spawn thing when it comes to our season open and close
