I'm sure it will be a nice ride. My back can't take flying across lakes in lighter boats. Excellent idea. But $900!!! I would have tried to modify a seat from a junk yard semi and 12v air pump. But then again I'm a major cheap *ss. enjoy.

Yea, the price is nutz.

But I couldn't go on the way things are.
My buddy has Smooth Moves units and he said it really helped his back.
And the Air Wave units are reportedly even better.
What's my back worth?
I'm to the point that I don't want to go out anymore.
And when I do I am in pain for days.

When you look at what we spend on the boat and gear, the $900 isn't as nutz I feel.
Besides, I move it to my next boat when that happens.

That is a pretty slick unit. My old Kubota tractor seat has something similar, only run with springs, and it does work well.  ;)

If came down to not fishing or spending the cash to me it’s a no brainer , IMO

Me too
At least now
Was concerned big time about the money

Then my friend asked me what my back was worth.
Or the pain

I assume you encounter some pretty nasty seas on the big lake out there. Even a calm day is probably 3-4 footers by the afternoon. I would have a hard time ponying up that cash too, but I bet it will be awesome.

Absolutely.
I rode on my buddy's Smooth Moves.
They have a tendency to "bounce" you back upward.
More springy, less dampening.
I'm told that is the big difference between the two.
Smooth Moves are like $600, where these are 50% more at $900.
But these are supposed to have a lot more control over the actual tuning of the dampening.
We'll see.

Good news.
Kristen from AirWave sent me an email to say it shipped today.
Originally a part was backordered and they didn't expect to ship before next Friday at the earliest.

Can't wait for it to show up.

Got it installed tonight
Didn’t match up with original floor holes
So had to drill new holes
Still an easy installation
Maybe 45 minutes from start to finish.
That includes putting away tools, stepladder and recovering boat.
Will probably test it out on the lake tomorrow.
It’s supposed to be 3-4’s
Acid test!!

😎

So? How is your back holding up these days?

Hi Geoff

The new pedestal is working sweet.
Mega bucks, but it is really nice.
Saturday the waves were over 2.
It really took the jarring out of the ride.
Sunday it was calmer but still 1-2's.
Made the ride back in way better.

The back is still a mess, but the boat rides aren't making matters worse.
Without the new pedestal I don't think I could have done 2 days in a row.

Thanks for asking.
