Title: Managed a couple hours at the Chu
Post by: stripernut on Oct 24, 2022, 09:09 AM
The weather was great but the bite was slow with only one laker about 18" on a Rooster Tail.

At dawn, there was a light breeze but it laid down and the whole Res became a mill pond.

Some other guy picked up a couple of nice rainbows, but that was all I saw or heard of for the morning. I think I will hit it again if I can find the time.

Good stuff.  Haven't made the trip there in years.  Miss the thread that used to exist for it.

Well I made it out for a little bit this morning. Got skunked but I did get a late start. Just throwing a kastmaster and a rooster tail. It was my first time there but I'll be back next Sunday. I'll likely bring some shiners next time.

For some anglers and some days that is the way to go... I am no were near patient enough to sit and wait, even casting, while waiting... At least most days I outfish the bait guys. I find moving to be key at least until you work out the key spots, but even then, it is just a little longer I spend in those spots.
Best of luck!

I did a good amount of exploring myself, was looking for the deeper water/ drop offs. It had already warmed up as well so I'd imagine they weren't near shore anymore. It's all part of the sport. I'll be back this weekend again hopefully.
