Saco river trout
« on: Aug 17, 2006, 08:52 PM »
posting in NH was slow, figured I'd share my latest outing.

went to saco river right down my backyard hill and went for some brookies for supper.

very slow at first, but some type of flies hatched and I found where the fish were ( there rising was noticable from far away)

threw them some beetle spins, caught my very first brown trout ever, only about 10 inches but oh well. hooked a real nice brookie, 14 inches i'd guess, slipped right from my hands and took off, and landed another 10 inch brookie.

lost several fish on the hookups.

felt great to find the fish though.
