I'm starting to get the bug...another month and I'll be jiggin' the whiteys on the Flathead river delta in Flathead Lake...can't wait...

That reminds me I've got to get some more jigs...

Well the Whiteys have arrived on the Flathead Delta and it should only get better from here!

Anybody ever jig whiteys in the summer?

Well I found those Whiteys this weekend!!!  Jigging them up with a Zimmer RattleDZastor on a LMR Whitefish Fly harness all Dark Green on the South end of the Flathead Delta.

This batch was on Saturday when I fished by my self.  These were caught in two hours.

Took me over two hours to fillet and clean them all and package them....
Went back out on Sunday with a buddy and did the same thing again only caught more, only kept the two largest ones which were both 3.5lbs and 20".  between the two of us we caught around 60 fish, including a nice 22 inch ~4lbish Bull Trout that took 10 minutes to get in the boat - AWESOME!!!

Good Fishing!

Great Catch!

I was up in that area this weekend and there were tons of boats on the Flathead delta.

Between the Mac days and the whitefish bite, it looked pretty busy out there.

Good effort, hope you've still got all your fingers after that fillet party.

Ya lots of boats for the Mack Attack!  And lots of people not catching much of anything.  I heard alot of complaining this weekend at the boat launch from people who didn't catch many whitefish or macks.

Only one knife slip to my left index finger(just resharpened the knife too)...still hasn't "stitched" yet not bad enough to go to the Doc though... ;Da

I'm taking a couple people out tomorrow night....so we will see how we do...

They are calling to me....The Whitey's are starting to school.....

I may have to try the early season bite down in Elmo bay this year...before they move up to the Delta...

Went out on the Flathead Lake Delta on Saturday morning, quite a few boats only a few catching many Whiteys.  I saw alot of small Macks being caught.

I, unfortunately, got SKUNKED!!!

Going back next Sunday with a vengeance!

Hit the Delta on Sunday only got 5 Whiteys, and one little Lake Trout

They still aren't up in there heavy!

Went to Elmo Bay on Monday and caught 8 Whiteys, 1 Squaw fish, 1 Laker, and 1 rocky mountain whitefish.

Nothing hot and heavy yet, but its comin...

Good Fishing!

What kind of jigs do you guys use? Do you tip it with bait? I'd like to try for some whitefish.
