You said to look at things like whip to rate pitchers, but i understand the ground ball guys do give up more hits and walks.
Winning certainly isn't everything to a pitcher, but it is everything to a team in a pennant race, like the cubs.
I know you never used "ace" to describe Clement, but you did say that he was one of the best in the game.
But as a fifth starter, I certainly do agree that Mr. Clement is one of, if not the, best. ;)
As with the era, i agree, there is very little difference, I was just making a point.

So desperate? Six in a row, buddy, six in a row! :D
They deserved the forfeit, even with the hurricane, Tampa Bay had plenty of time to make their flight and said they would do so.
El Duque
Brown
Mussina
Lieber
Heck, even Loaiza and Heredia have been reborn. :)
They have all been solid of late.
They'll be pitiful all the way to  world series rings ;D

Oh yeah, Yankee starters suck alright. That certainly explains the consecutive three hit shutouts by Moose and Vazquez. Jeter's bating .291 and A-Rod's at .292! Both are batting at or near .400 for the last few weeks. Yah! :D
 IT'S OVER GUYS, IT'S OVER!! ;D

At least until they meet the cubbies in the world series, then it truly is over for the yankees! :P ;)

That's right, less than 4% of the games decide the decision

It's gonna be a dead heat. The 2 games left in this series and the 3 game set in Boston is going to be crucial. The Ynks starting pitching won't hold up through the playoffs. Yeah, the Yankees ARE playing better than they had been in weeks past, but they can't stop the Sox 8) Oh yeha...Go Cards! ;D
