I caught one trolling one time.  It was kind of strange but never have used it.

I've had better luck with the small Yozuri Pin's Minnow.  They are a little smaller and have more of a smelt profile.  The purple color has worked great for me.

I have a box full of stick baits...no.... make that 2 boxes.  Rapalas, Thundersticks, Rebels, Bombers, Pins, Crystals and others.  On certain bodies of water at iceout the Crystal Minnows will far outfish all others that I have.  I suspect that it has to do with the size of the baitfish the fish are keyed in on.

Not sure I'd run out and spend $9-$11 on one anymore but if you can get a few cheaper and fish lakes with big smelt.... they work.

These work great, but I also get a lot of deeply hooked fish with them, the rear treble is always down their throat. It may be the speed I troll too because they troll well at sewed bait speed.

x2 Boot, and I don't think its speed as much as size and profile.  Not the best option available IMHO if you intend on releasing the fish.  But effective, yes.  Prices have gone way up it seems on them.

You could change the treble to single siwash and add some hair.
