Properly, it's "Wind from the East, fish bite the least. Wind from the West, fish bite the best!"

That's only good for freshwater.

This one is from Farmers and is best admired by ice fisherman.

My father always said....when the shad tree Blossoms fall, go fishing and catch them all....
Guess that meant the temp had warmed enough to spark the fish to bite....

The answer is:   So when your woman gets drunk you can carry her home like a six pack!

Those are the only ones I know!  This should be an interesting topic...That East is least one...does it refer to a wind coming from the east, or blowing in an eastern direction (towards east from west)?  That's a new one I just heard within the past year and haven't really ever paid attention to which way the wind is blowing...

I believe the East is least and West is best is a navigation term for compass declination.  East declination is least so you subtract it from our azimuth ( a heading off true north)  and west is best means add the declination to your azimuth.
If you have great friends, taunt them..... endlessly. Even if you don't have good friends taunt them just for the practice. This is the Gospel according to the GODs.
