Name this fish

I caught this Sunday night down at the Merrimack River. Caught it on a crankbait bouncing on the bottom.

I thought a fall fish. My brother-in-law says it looks like a shad.

Fallfish, NH's largest Native minnow.

I get laughed at for going after them, but I think they're a blast to catch! One day I'm gonna keep a couple to try. I've heard they're white and flaky.
