"NEW WORLD RECORD STRIPER!
Paul Melnyk has heard that there is a new striped bass world record this morning!
An 81.6 pound slob was taken in Connecticut waters this morning on a live eel.
This fish was believed to have been taken on the Southwest reef by a fellow named Al Stromski.
The fish was weighed in at Shoreline Bait and Tackle in Westbrook Ct. WOW!"

Guys, here are some more pix of the striper and some info on how it was caught etc....

I love that he is wearing Sox and Patriots shirts in the pictures and caught it in NY LOL

Thanks for the link Scott,
That's crazy, how someone else had recently lost that fish and how he still fished out the rest of the night. That guy has the monster bass figured out. I like the pic with the two wall mounts behind him.
I thought he caught it in Conn.

I notice in the comments of the first Field & Stream link it didn't take someone very long to discredit it due to the bait he used. Never fails. Jealousy always rears it's ugly head when it comes to records. I know from experience.

I say congratulations!

Sounds like he regularly catches good fish though so I credit this guy for being more than just lucky. Nice fish and good for him.
