Had the past three days off, and went kayaking at a few different locales with fishing in mind.

Sudbury River was VERY good to me, with plenty of surface strikes from bass and pickerel (and maybe a opike or two but I couldn't see them to verify)
Tried to fish 3 different ponds in the Taunton / Norton area. Sabbatia was a bust so "tried" to hit the Norton Reservoir to no avail. (they blocked off most of the shore access on the far side of the pond where I usually launch.) I ended up at Winnicunnet. I had some doubts early on with a strong breeze blowing across the pond, but when I crossed over and got into the slack water I found plenty of 2-4 lb. bass willing to to strike!

Returned to the sudbury for another try at some of those missed hits and found plenty of 18-24" pickerel more than ready to ruin whatever plastic I tossed in their direction.

I brought a camera for some scenic shots, as it would be impossible to take a picture while wrestling with a toothy torpedo.
I need to take someone with me next time!

Take the work while you can Keith!!! I have a hunch you'll find plenty of time to get out on the ice...
