first open water trip of 2014
« on: Mar 24, 2014, 09:09 AM »
Finaly had the chance to get out on the boat. drove 2 hours to long pond in plymouth only to find out it was still iced over. From there i went to peters pond in sandwich thankfully that was wide open aside from one shoreline that had ice about 20' out. The morning was perfect flat no wind. then the wind picked up and was brutal. only managed to land two fish, 1 brown and 1 rainbow.

Nice to see the open water. I can't wait to get out myself. Ice fishing is losing it's luster but it is late March now and the trout should be getting stocked soon so there is light at the end of the tunnel. Been a good long ice fishing season but it's time for open water fishing.

Awesome man, big time jealous here... I've seen a few little spots of open water at the inlets but nothing big enough to float a boat on... I'm hoping to see a few boatable rivers in the next few weeks.
