Just finished putting my 2nd deer in the cooler.  A 4pt with the bow last month and another 4pt yesterday when my Mrs pulled the trigger and we're done.  Now I just have to pull down a few tree stands put stuff away. The next venture will be drilling holes in the ice, and it won't come soon enough for me.  Let her come !

This was my 35th SZ opening day. My father put a gun in my hand at 12.

Over all those years I have never seen much more than a basket 8 point on opening weekend.

I doubt I’ll ever top this and I don’t even want to! Shot him at 6:41.

Reeleyz, one very nice buck but what I like the best is "how you were able to re-enact the look on your face when when you saw him coming". Again CONGRATS.

Jr. Big Guy, Congrats, nice start. Many more to come.....h2l

Thanks guys. A little more backstory on this.

My buddy Ron shot a buck opening weekend of bow so he has been sitting on the sidelines the entire bow season. Friday he went out to check some cameras with his bow in hand. He had this buck dead to rights at 30 yards and passed because he had no tag. Saturday morning he texted me before first light and said "I think you have the best shot at the big one". 45 minutes later "the big one" was dead on the ground in front of me. I yahooed so loud Ron heard it over a half mile away. He texted me and said "Tell me that was you?". He was so happy that I got him. That is a true friend right there.

I shot him within sight of where my dad shot his last buck 24 years ago and also where he passed away that same day. It was very emotional and very special to be there with my brother, nephews, mother, and good friends.

Thanks guys watched him from 345-453 Saturday afternoon. I had gotten down was going home hadn't seen nuts in the stand all day. I got the edge of the field he was 200 yards out I laid down on my stomach and put my self in good shooting spot. At 440 he decided it was time to come across the field he walked to a spot I said when he hits I'm dropping him. Hit him in the heart at 20 yards he ran about 30 yards and face planted
