So….which side or the aluminum foil goes up and which side goes down?

Question of the century!
If you lend someone $20 and never see that person again, it was probably worth it.

Reflective side to the meat.
If you do the opposite, it will hold back the heat because it has a higher emissivity.
Simple thermal dynamics 101 (heat transfer).

Same reason that you install the foil side of Owens Corning fiberglass insulation to the inside of the house.
To reflect the heat back into the house.

Happy new year my favorite foodies!

I have a question I thought you folks may be able to help with. I had leftover noodles and cheese from NYE lasagna so I made a second one, uncooked. I currently have it in the freezer above the fridge uncovered. Now that it’s frozen, I want seal it and transfer it to the chest freezer.

What’s the best way to seal it to avoid freezer burn? I don’t have Foodsaver bags big enough. So I was thinking best bet would be to cut the sides of the bag roll I have and reseal several together to make a big bag, then air seal it.

Any other suggestions? The lasagna pan is 5” or 6” tall.

Thawed the lasagna from January. Same out great. Froze it uncooked, wrapped in aluminum foil then vacuum sealed. Thank again for the tips!

Being a cooking topic isn't it in and out not up and down? I'd say it depends on the application?

I get 0 homemade soup this time of the year from the wife. Once fall kicks in its homemade until latter part of April. That's the way she works it, so who am I to differ. Now and then on a cooler day this time of the year, if we want grilled cheese sandwiches, we will crack open a can of soup. NOT THE SAME!!!!!! As we all know............
