Fishing the Burg
« on: Aug 29, 2021, 07:11 PM »
I took my 3 girls up to Pittsburg for the last 5 days to just relax, swim, and fish and get away after another long summer of nothing but work. It was great to all just hang out uninterrupted from crazy work hours and sports. It was my first time touching a rod since mid May.

Water in the lakes was extremely low but the river flow was fine. I ended up with 46 Browns, 6 Rainbows, and 12 Brookies.

Some of the Browns were real pretty.

Very nice! Beauty of a brown and sounds like a nice “wind-down” from the grind!

Nice job sounds like great weekend of catchin.  I was up there for a wedding last weekend couldn't believe how low lakes were they're at winter levels now.  I wonder how low it will be by ice in

46 browns, wow.  Nice work.  And that's a nice one in the pic, for sure.

Didn’t see a single one but it was also almost 90 degrees most of the days

If any of you plan to head up, let me know I would make the run to walk some woods.

If I fill all 3 archery tags right off I’ll let you know. I don’t have a dog and I’m not into the cruising the roads but I find likely spots and do some hiking. Can usually find a limit in the spots not pounded If I hunt the entire day and get some Hare too kicking brush piles

Thanks Jason! You should get up to your old haunts this fall!

Sounds good pal. I have dogs and do not bring them. Last time I did I had to pull 100 quills out of him and then a 2 hour ride to the vet. Not happening. The last time I went I basically bagged a grouse every spot i walked on my own off the roads. I also do not enjoy driving all day for birds. Funny thing is not 1 hare.
