72 and I seemed to have survived.
If you lend someone $20 and never see that person again, it was probably worth it.

$6.95 for a hammock?! I always just crawled around on the package tray. Seemed safe enough.

Trampoline without safety net , no child proofingin homes , second hand smoke and the list is endless ,I remember standing in the back seat of my gramps Packard , no bicycle helmets required then
Construction even into the 80s had little safety protocols, no work boots , or safety vests , no shirts sneakers were fine dam those were all great days

We used to take trips down south to virginia/north carolina to visit my dads family. Took Rt. 11 all the way back in them days. Drive down overnight, me and my two brothers would sleep in the back. One on the floorboard, one on the seat, and one up in the back window...lol

I have 6 brothers and sisters.
So there were 9 of us in a station wagon.
We used to fight over who got to ride in the “way back”.
3 in the front
3 in the back
And 3 in the “way back”

The great thing about the first item is that it could serve double duty and let you take your kid up into you treestand with you.

What I find funny is that the car harness is also marketed as a walking leash for your kid…. I figured for sure my millennial generation invented leashes for kids, but seems like crazy knows no timeframe.

59 grew up riding in the back of the pickup with hay and grain for horses from the feed store. Drank from a garden hose. Worked in the 80s no safety classes on chainsaw use. How did we ever survive?
Take a kid fishing

All these are great memories of me even growing up in the 90's out here in the wild west, used to ride in the back of the truck all the time on the mountain or out in the Prarie. We took a trip down to the state line and my uncle had a topper with the carpet inserts for the back and we rode in that all the way down and back was a fun trip with my cousins. What a time to live.
