My question for those smarter than me....what pressure are you running at?  I have 14" 6ply load range C tires.  Tire shop set the pressure I need to double check.

You really need to look at the inflation chart for the particular tire.  Then look for your load weight and fill them to what the chart says.
Many people read the side of the tire and fill them to that psi.  You could be over inflating them if you do this.
The tires on my camper, 4 of them, are rated up to 3500# @ 90psi.
That would handle 14,000#’s
My trailer only weighs 6000-6500#’s depending on how much water and waste is in the tanks.
And over inflated tire wears the center of the tread.  An under inflated tire wears the outside edges of the tread.  Hope that helps.

I've had good luck with Carlisle radial trail HD, but they are 205/75r14. It's on a17.5 ft boat. I get them from mavis tire, usually decent prices.

Mac you hit the nail on the head  fender clearance will not allow a larger diameter tire - tire pressure is not the issue - cheap rubber is more like it

Can you raise the fenders?
Be careful because fenders on boat trailers are typically very close to the boat hull.  Of course you could raise the boat by raising the bunks.  Which would mean the trailer must go further down the ramp to float the boat.

Well guys, sad to say but I suffered a flat this evening returning from walleye fishing.  Not sure what happened but the vee rubber from mavis didnt seem to last long.  (Worse than that was the fishing)

Too bad Iowa I feel your pain. The hunt is on for some decent tires. Don't know what I'll end up with yet, but there won't be any more Carlisle's on my rig.

I just buy cheap tires and rims from walmart.com.  When I lose one or one gets looking rough I just replace both and carry extra spares. I have one spare mounted to the trailer and carry another one in my van.

That's what I do now. Seems spending more doesn't really mean better, so I just buy the cheapest in the correct load range and replace them when they need it.

Switched from the vee rubbers to good year endurance today.  They had load range D in stock.  The 1 remaining vee rubber is the spare now.  I should have known better.
