Starting tomorrow, September 15, we all have to wear a life preserver in a canoe or kayak. I've heard from a couple of guys who didn't and got a ticket.

Good reminder!

Thanks, I wear the inflatable ones, there great!

Does that inflate automatically when you get submerged or do you have to set it off by hand?

Both are available, I use the manual, but I have also done a lot of whitewater canoe and kayaking and have a good feel for when it is time to "pull the Cord".

I have mustangs that do both. Wear mine at night running the sound.

I wish the prices would come down on the inflatables. I HATE wearing one in a kayak as it bunches up and is a huge pain in the backside IMO. I usually have one jammed into the front of my yak but rarely wear it. Sadly the only time I've dumped my kayak is when its cold but both times I could stand up on the same rock I flipped on.

Normally I keep mine close and dont wear it. Then I passed a giant tree...now I wear it.
