My mom just sent me pictures of Apps in 1920. I guess the bait shop should be on the historic registry by now. 😉😉

Wow. Thanks for sharing.  I bet I’m not the only one who would have loved  to fish back then.

I just fished Oneida for the first time in a few years.  For what it's worth, I used to fish it more than I do of late, but I've never really known the lake that well, although I've had fair luck there.  On Saturday morning, I fished for 4 hours or so and picked up one good perch, a few small perch, 2 keeper walleye (15-16") and probably a dozen shorts.  I have no doubt that there are plenty of keepers in the lake, but when I got there, the lake was dead calm and the bite from bigger fish was basically non-existent.   I'm anxious to get back though, it's clear there are a lot of fish in the lake.

I started in 35-40 feet of water jigging, caught a few small fish.  Then I started trolling in 30-40 feet of water with very limited luck, even for small fish.  Finally I moved in to 10-15 feet of water and took the 2 keepers and a couple of shorts that were also close to being legal.

Anyone night fishing from shore yet?
Hoping for some cold temps to roll in to get things going.
If nothing else at least kill a few mosquitos. Man they are are so bad this year!

Went out of Godfrey again today.  Got 4 in the box quick and then only hooked shorts for while.  At 11:30 the bite turned on and ended up releasing two keepers while picking up after we boxed a two man limit.  Same routine, 27 down over 40 with stickbaits.
