Pull the trigger if you see one they are better than deer to eat

My buds daughter shot one a couple of years back and it was delicious. They took it to a butcher only because it was hot out, and he showed them how to look for trichinosis. With that in mind they didn't overcook it. I did decide to shoot if I had a slam dunk opportunity. The neighboring property shot one the first hour and the woods went very quiet after that. Saw 10 deer Sunday morning all does and fawns, had one doe walk past the primitive box blind at 10 yards feeding on black cherries. Great to get out for sure.

Glad you were able to enjoy the day Dave. You should be able to shoot a bear across the road from you.
Had one cross the neighbors property just down the road from me a couple of weeks ago.

Yeah Ken they are in our area, a friend got a picture of one near Chenango Lake a couple of months ago. Personally I've never seen one in the woods while hunting.

Looks like maybe some cooler weather for the NZ bow opener. Hopefully the forecast doesn't change.

I did not get out last night in the NZ. A little too warm. Looks cooler for a while though. I plan on getting out Friday evening in the SZ.

Hope your arm holds up - my shoulder has been tender since I started shooting - lately I've just been going out and shooting 1 or 2 arrows and calling it quits for a few hours and going out again..... so far so good as of last night.  Can't wait till Friday morning - I better sleep tonight because it won't be happening Thursday night I'm afraid.   :D :D

I will be in a stand Friday morning.

I live in the north and *could* have been in a stand all week, but only took Friday off. Feel like I'm wasting our special extra few days, but just couldn't bring myself to take a mid-week day off. Friday will have to do.

I really like hunting later in the season when its cooler, but the time goes by so fast if I don't get out there I'll regret it.  Plus I'm retired so I don't have any excuses - not good ones anyway.  LOL
