New or used 50=75hp outboard
« on: Sep 18, 2021, 12:36 PM »

Having a hard time finding either a new or used outboard near me. Prefer a Mercury but, I'll consider another make if its a 50-75 hp. Two or four stroke. Anyone got a line on a motor? My old 50hp needs a rebuild or a whole new powerhead. I.m getting detonation on the top cylinder from blow by and either scenario is $2K at best so....I'll gladly trade it in for parts but, need a replacement so I can get back on the water!!

Best bet is through bass pro or Cabela's for a Merk cause they use so many for there tracker boats they get them quicker than anywhere and if you get on order list you can always cancel but stay on list best prices also

Only problem with used is there is usually a good reason the party is selling it and not keeping it. Just a random thought to keep in mind.

Not always the case...
I bought a used motor for my river boat a number of years ago...  the motor had set in corner of his garage for 5 years unused.. so he wanted to get rid of it. .  That motor has ran flawlessly since I bought it

I'll send you a PM in a minute with a guy's name and cell number.
He's a very old freind and he now owns Anchor Marine on Grand Island.
He might be able to help you pertner.

You may want to call Bass Pro in Utica. Last week they had 8 or 10 Marc's hanging on the wall for sale. I did not pay attention to sizes, they may have one that will work for you.

I have had luck buying a few motors online. No problem if the company is listed in the US.  Boats.net is good. They have Mercury and Suzuki.
I have had luck with both.  Also,  there are a new 50 and a new 60 Mercury listed on ebay right now.
