Just picked up a 3 qt. styrofoam minnow bucket at a local shop. (plan to use it mainly for ice fising)(always looking to downsize ... so the drag gets a bit easier....(Us smaller framed guys as well as the senior members understand all too well.) Primarily there will be fatheads and small shiners in the bucket, Does anybody use a 3qt. bucket,????? and how many minnows do you generally take out with you in that size of container.????? I am kinda skeptical about the abililty for minnows to last a day in such a smaller container. But like I stated it is so much smaller, and takes up alot less space..(which is a good thing).......and yes I know that there is an ICESHANTY.COM :-\

about a dozen i now thats what i used at first
but found out a dozen shiners swas not enough
had to go to the 5 gallonbucket with padded topfor a seat

I usually only get one scoop of minnows. Winter time is cold enough that as long as they don't freeze they go for few days.

i can get about 4 dozen emeralds to keep in a small bucket in the winter time for a week or so. they dont create as much of the toxins that they do in the summer. the buckets dont freeze cause their moving the water enough

I have been using one of the coleman stackers for my minnows, drilled a small hole for a air line. I can load it up with minnows.
