Moose - in case you do not find anyone to show you and you want to go for it yourself - here are a few sites on the "How to part of making homemade rods" that may be helpful.

I'll trade a couple custom plugs for a blank? I want to learn myself. I have the rod turning motors. Might be a good winter project.

What kind of blanks are they?

Hey Moose and Mugz.
Fly shop in town. Cotes Fly Shop. Mannville street Leicester. Ray can hook  you up. He builds rods and I believe also has classes on rod building. They have a website you can google.

PS. Right now my Go Fish Ice Derby is slated for Saturday February 17th at Sargents Pond in Leicester.

Will send out definite flier in a week or two. I'll have Porter post on Ice Shantee.

Hope all is well........................Dan
