Trolling with spinnerbaits?
« on: Jul 16, 2007, 06:00 PM »
I want to try trolling on in a canoe using a spinnerbait but I don't know if it would work? And maybe trolling a plastic bucktail worm?

Like a safety pin style spinner?

I troll them across weed tops for pike, it works like a charm!

spinner baits, most people use them for bass fishing .

I could see this tactic working great for pike ,   The ones around my area are zoned right in on any thing chartreuse,  I never trolled but I cast for them , I put a chartreuse ribbon tail worm on for a trailer and really got some action,   I might try that rig with the troll and see what happens  ;).
Catch and release in a hot pan of grease.

I have trolled ADK ponds w/ small double bladed gold/silver spinners tipped w/ worm and done pretty well on the brookies.
