Most small mammals will kill and eat other small mammals.  I have seen many instances where a deer mouse ate a vole, vole ate a vole, or a mouse ate a mouse.

Nice pike!

I'm stuck over here in Oregon because I didn't get enough of my boys spring break to be able to make it home to Montana and back with them. So we have been perch fishing over here because almost nobody in Oregon perch fishes so where you find them they tend to be of good size. Here are twelve we caught in about an hour and a half last night:

31 inches and 12 lbs?

My son caught one up on Smith lake two years ago that was 30" and 10lbs. We checked it on three different scales. I don't think 31" and 12lbs is unreasonable.

I probably should have deducted a pound for the 13" whitefish I found in it's belly, but it weighed what it weighed, thanks for the input!
