Thanks everyone it was a blast.
Wow that's a big paddlefish, How did it fight?!

Wasn't near as tough as I was expecting but I did hook him in the bill and he rolled a couple times so it was as much steering as it was pulling.
Nice Job Rez...........Did you teach the Best Friend to use a camera??......... :o :D
I wish, I actually googled a timer for my phone and used it. Pretty proud of myself since I'm not too techy.
Way to nail em' Rez...............

Did the best friend help with the netting/landing ?? LOL..........

I wish, he just ran up and down the shore all sorts of excited and didn't know what to do. He really wasn't a fan once he got wacked in the face by the bill.

Na, didn't even think about it but I did get some huge fillets and a lot of cubed meat to bread and fry. I am going to try and get the bill beetle ate but we'll see, was told the smaller ones are tough to get to hold together.

I know! if they are so worried about pike wrecking trout fisheries then they would have to kill all the pike in the big horn river  :P. They could make a lot of money if they managed it for the monster pike by guys coming from all over to catch them.......... just a thought lol
God bless and tight lines!

back to the pike i cf. now that i have calmed down a bit. i grew up on the Clark fork river down by Noxon reservoir were there has been pike before i was born that was 21 years ago and fwp has netted a monster pike out of there that would have beat the state record with out any problem and all they did was tagged it let it go back that pike was a lot older then me. then all of a sudden now that there have been people catching walleye in there they made it a big deal whats the difference in there being pike or walleye and evan both now. and the clark fork used to be a huge trout fishery but that was all lost when the dams were put in. so what makes cf so different. is it because people chase trout? do they have any idea how many people would love to chase a 20 pound pike to merely put on the wall i would and i now more then one other person that would do the same.

OKAY that was to put my opinion out. now how many of you have ever caught a pike on a fly bigger then a pound? i have and its a blast so i "think'' people should allow pike to be there not to be killed once there netted think about it pike on a fly rod thats a fish to watch some youtube videos about it see what you think and in a few years you could be doing that in stead of chasing trout and hope to get one over 24 inches
