Delaware river Striper Question.
« on: Mar 23, 2010, 04:15 PM »
Since NY has you buy a marine license for stripers on the hudson do you need one In the Delware for fishing for them.  I am a pa resident as well with a PA license and atleast in the past we did not have to buy a marine license for the delaware so would I need one if I am fishing for stripers in a section of the river that both NY and PA bordering it.  Would i need to buy a NY fishing license as well?  I only fish below the split of the east and west branch.  Is the delware still considered reciprical water where either license can be used?

Dave, I'd make sure to call the DEC and make sure you get the name of who you are talking to. I talked to multiple people up that way (mostly from the National Parks Service who were checking licenses) when I was ice fishing it this winter and everyone gave me a different answer and none could give me anything in writing that said yes or no.
