My Bride and most of the people I know would agree :P
If you lend someone $20 and never see that person again, it was probably worth it.

think about it people that spend thousands of dollars on feathers and fur to tie on a hook in hopes to fool a  fish (one step above a  tomato on the  evolutionary scale ) into believing it is a  insect they been  eating ....then  after our brief  victory  we let the fish  go. maybe  none of us  are  "normal"

Now…THATS funny!

If I were to think about the thousands I’ve spent on tools, equipment and supplies for my wood shop….to sell a $10 car at a farmers market……..nah!

Not going there.

Love the mantis, Trapper thanks for the link. I tried again to do the 20#s and it's brutal. Probably won't need tiny flies anyway where I'm going but I packed some trico patterns that Oatkasut sent me (thank you) so I will have some tiny stuff.

If you think buying all that stuff is ridiculous, I've dodged traffic to pick up dead grouse just so I could tie a fly, catch a trout and then release it.  ;D

Can’t tell you how many squirrel tails I’ve harvested on my morning walks. Goose feathers, fox and raccoon tails……it’s a disease. Then there’s all the yarn, tinsel, ……oh….I’m gonna stop. Someone’s Bride might read this. ( mine is well adjusted after 50+ years)

Stepped outside earlier and found this guy. Another example of nature's stealthy creativity.

I can probably tie #20’s if I tried. Hardly ever use anything that small though. I have a box of tricks and mosquitoes somewhere.

I try to keep my prices affordable for folks with little ones. People who buy my stuff will probably remember that old guy at the market who made toys. If the kids have fun with them and it sparks their imagination……I’m happy.

A few years ago I saw what looked like a bird the size of a sparrow struggling in the lake - I jumped in the boat, zoomed across the lake,  and netted it and it was a HUGE moth.  I brought it back and put it on the neighbors picnic table to dry off.  Less than 30 seconds later a robin swooped down and grabbed it and tore it apart and ate it.  I'm sure the moth was thinking thanks for nothing ...... the pictures of the insects reminded me of that - hahaha
