Any drive in fishing lodges????
« on: Apr 13, 2012, 02:56 AM »
I am trying to plan a 4 or 5 day fishing trip in Saskatchewan. I am looking for some where that is drive in I have my own boat and supplies just looking to rent a lodge or cabin for the time we are there it would be for 3 maybe 4 people we are all from central Sask. We used to go to Besnard but the roads there have gotten so bad in the past 5 years we are looking for new options.

Any Suggestions???
I live with fear everyday, but sometimes she lets me go fishing

Tobin Lake has some drive to lodges.
The ones I am thinking of are Pruden's Point Resort on the N shore of Tobin and
Tobin Lake Resort on the S side right in the village area and last but not least
Thunder Rapids Lodge on the Sask. River near the hydroelectric power station.
All of these guides and lodges in the Tobin Lake area should be able to tell you were to find and what to use for
the big one. :)

If you wanted to try some fishing in the S for big fish, be it walleye, pike, perch or carp the folks at G & S Marina at Last Mountain Lake should find them for you.
They also have cabins to rent there.

Should have lots to choose from Pickle.

I'll x2 ran7ger's suggestion to go to Slim's and fish on the river although they did have a problem with the road once last year due to high water.  I've been there many times if you want to PM me for some info.  Can expect to catch plenty of eater walleye and some decent pike.  As good as a fishery Tobin is, it's not quite the same experience as heading up north and getting away from it all which is what I assume you are looking for.

Some other drive to places I'd suggest are Dore, Pinehouse, Keeley, Jan, Otter and Deschambault.  I'd say those are some of the main drive to lodges that are a little further north.  I would take a look into all those and see what fits your budget and what appears to be the best to you.
