1985 18' Dynasty Triton.... Fiberglass , Open Bow, looking to bow mount trolling motor, ANY suggestions as to thrust, brand names, anything, Im clueless where to begin.

i would say nothing less than 60 lb thrust minn koda seem to be the most popular brand plus they have different props [high thrust and weedless] depending what your useing it for . i owned 3 minns no problems at all with them just did a lot of upgrading and now iam looking to get another one a 55 lb thrust. anything bigger than 55 are 24 volts [2batts] .. the motor of that size starts at about $3oo .00..to almost $700 depending on the model.

If you plan on trolling contours, go with the higher end Motorguide. If you troll open water the Minn Kota with auto pilot is great. I would get a 24 volt system for that heavy boat and you should be good for all day.
