Glad you have been getting out and into some fish. Back when I lived in Churchville, Conesus was my "go to" lake. My PB perch and LMB both were caught there. I am sure you will enjoy the retirement....h2l

Ben, Good luck in retirement; you'll love it! Set some goals for yourself like I did ; 100 fishing trips per season and 1000 fish for trout on the fly. Been at it for 24 years .

Like I told you the other day….get out as soon as you can. If you get bored there’s always something for an old guy to do.

Ben you have it right! Stay active and use physical therapy(PT) to the fullest extent. Over the last 4 years, PT has allowed me to overcome arthritis in my shoulders and legs and some muscular pain in my leg that went away by doing a few exercises. The great thing about stream fishing is that you can sit down and roll cast or just rest and take in Mother nature. My buddy Jim used a high seat camping chair which we planted in the stream to sit and fish for hours. IT WORKED!
He'd outfish me as well. Dick

Probably begin to wonder how you ever worked and got anything else done.
You’ll get used to working days👍
I’m happy for you.
