Katahdin Inn, located near the shopping center, good hotel considering its location, There is, of course, La Casa cabins and some wholesome night time entertainment to go with it, Just be sure its not a man before dropping any $ for a dance, If you go I assure you it will be a night that you will never forget, There's something to be said about a strip joint with a bull moose head as the center piece, thats in Medway, a short drive to Millinockett. Both are about 30-40 minutes from west branch Penob off golden road.

If your lucky you may hit it on a weekend when the import the chicks from Boston. If not, throw some compliments at the bartender, she's a hefty girl but she'll be sure you leave with a story for your friends! Rod tips UP, Lines tight.

There is another hotel in East Millinocket. Nice place has a swimming pool and a fitness room and a free breakfest in the am....I think that its the Holliday inn..(I couldn't read much when we got back there) Stayed there in Feb and we were the only ones there.

Another vote for the Katahdin Inn, has an indoor heated pool and jacuzzi, and breakfast is included.  I think it was about $100 per night with 3 person occup.  It is across from the Irving (now Dead River fuel or something like that) down past McD's.  I think the sign says Econo lodge at the road, not a Kat Inn sign any more.  Great spot for sledding too,

Ahh the la'casa memories.....

Chesuncook may have opened up, I am trying to find out myself.  Camp is right across from Gero isl.  Mid May is a safe bet but given this year, the ice may already be out.  I was up for the 2nd to last week of the season and there was still 40".
