A few pics of the sturgeon caught Saturday nite on the South Saskatchewan River. Buddy caught a 9#er and me with my 6 and 12#ers. All were realease.

All were caught on pikerel rigs, #2 barbless hooks, and 5" salted minnows.

Rumour has it that they are pretty healthy and the numbers are on the rise. I've caught them all the way to the confluence of the Oldman and Bow where the South Sask River starts. Alberta record is 105# and was caught  pretty much the same place as these ones. This is the earliest I've ever caught them. Mid July is when usually start hearing them being caught
