After the burger and snack sticks you fed us I'll pass on the Hotdog and come around closing time so we can go back to your place and enjoy one or 2 of cold ones 8)

My daughter and I got into the pickled garlic the other night and finished off the last jar.  :'(
I guess I'll have to do 4 quarts this year. Go away snow!!   8)
One more with the one we're after and we'll have two.

Stuff is starting to pop up around my house.
 Daffodils on the South side.

Crocus, iris, tulips and daffodils around the flagpole.

Got up to 41 today. Looks like 1 more week of unseasonable weather this week and then maybe a return to normal weather.

Lol. Good for you!
It got up to 31° here today and there's still about a foot and a half of snow on the garden.  :-\

Jeeze, I may live on a hill but I'm only like 250 ft. above sea level.   ::)

I'm at 489' asl. Maybe I'm just closer to the sun ;D

I've got to get some fence up around the flagpole pretty soon. The backyard deer herd will munch my flowers if I let them  the other morning I was headed out to the store around 5:30am and there was a big doe cleaning off the hanging seed platforms. I turned the light on and opened the door and she just looked at me and kept right on eating. She didn't move till I told her to beat it!

The feeders are no more than 10' from my door.

Shot that theory right down didn't he  :o I'm going to have to do all potted or boxed gardening this year as Lisa and I are on the market for a new house. Time to start stocking up on soil, what's everyone's favorite? I'm thinking a blend of Miracle control moisture control and Garden soil, with some Bone Meal, Blood meal, and of course Compost.

My blend has been ,
Garden soil/potting soil mix, 50/50
I add peat, perlite, Black Cow composted manure, sand and bone meal. I think the sand is important to assist drainage. The perlite helps to keep the mix loose. Especially with potted plants. The peat is good organic material and the manure is .....manure ;D

This mix is in all my potted house plants and raised beds and I use it for the plants I chose to pot outdoors.....flowers and vegetables both.

I don't generate much composted material until fall. I cover my beds with it and till it in in the spring.

I like it, I'll add the sand for sure! The moisture control has pearlite in it, and I've had good luck with it in Lisa's potted garden, but I guess some more couldn't hurt! Lowes got it on sale yet?
