Eighth Lake NY- updated with Pics
« on: Jun 30, 2019, 11:19 AM »
I am camping on Eighth lake in a week. I have a 14ft rowboat with a 6 hp o/b. Never been there and am looking forward to fishing.  Wondering if anyone can give some tips and or ideas of what to use and some general spots. Thanks!

Welcome to the site daddyrainbow.
Trolling spoons and plugs work well for the trout.  Drift jigging the deep spots is always good for Lakers..
And there's some nice smallmouth in there..

Fish the creeks coming into it. The one near the campground has some nice brookies

Thank you Raquettedacker and fishin4eyes for the response.  I plan on trolling some Kastmasters and Rapalas. Hope this will get me some Rainbows. Also  I want to try to jig for some Lakers.  Should I find the deepest spot?

Are the creeks good for fly fishing? If so I will bring the fly rod.

Lake clear wobbler with a crawler behind island move just fast enough to see your rod tip wiggle. Some nice rainbows and lakers in there.
