If you hunt and/or fish in the Oneida Lake area, please take a few minutes to fill out this survey from Cornell.

A student from Cornell was out on the Lake Saturday doing a creel survey, small center console boat. We gave him a good report. He stopped at every other boat. Thanks for passing along.

Survey completed. I think there is a mistake in it though.

It asked this question "Do you share with, sell to, receive from, or purchase any fish from others in the community?" three times, I think it was copied into the meat and plant gathering sections but they forgot to change it from fish to meat or gathering. If someone could let them know please do.

Completed, but if the don't do something about controlling  cormorants, be might not be catching fish there or eating them.

Thanks all.

There is a “movement” in the hunting industry focusing more on the meat that we procure and less on things like antler size. In my opinion that helps to paint hunting in a more positive way for the people that are not comfortable with it.

The Wild Harvest Initiative is working on a way to document how much fish and game is harvested in North America and shared with others. Along with the worth of that meat as compared to commercially produced meat.
